Heroines - Heroínas - Heldinnen

I highly recommend this wonderful exhibition I visited last saturday with my dear friends Tina and Elena: "Heroines" in the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum and Caja Madrid Foundation in Madrid. Don´t miss it if you are in Madrid! Until 5th june 2011.

Layer - capa - Schicht

When I read this week´s prompt "layer" I immediately thought of a layer cake, yum! Sigh...I have a sweet tooth...

I had fun with this drawing: it´s not only a layer cake, it is made of many layers with my beloved oil pastels.

Al leer la tarea de IF para esta semana, "capa", inmediatamente pensé en una tarta hecha de muchas capas, tipo Sacher, ¡ñam! Aysss...soy una golosa...

Me lo pasé pipas haciendo este dibujo: no es solo una tarta hecha de muchas capas, también dibujé muchas capas con mis queridos pasteles de óleo.

Reverse - el reverso - die Kehrseite

Isn´t the reverse part of both women and men a very attractive and special one? Particularly because we can´t look at ourselves like this, it is reserved for others to see our b-side.

This is a rough watercolour study of a live drawing session with 5 minutes poses. I am really clumsy at this, as it was the first time in ages that I went to life drawing. Later I pimped the drawing up with colour pencil.

¿No crees que el revés de las mujeres y de los hombres es especialmente atractivo e interesante? Sobre todo por que nosotros mismos no podemos mirarnos desde este punto de vista, está reservado a otros de ver nuestro reverso.

Hice este pequeño boceto de acuarela antes de ayer en una sesion de dibujo con modelo, eran poses de 5 minutos. Estoy siendo verdaderamente torpe con estos ahora, ya que hace siglos que no he ido allí. Dibujé después encima con lápices de colores, lo que hace el dibujo más vivo.

Déja-vu

...to have a Déja-vu can be something very perturbating...the best is just to try to relax!!

...tener un déjà-vu puede ser algo verdaderamente perturbante...¡lo mejor es quedarse lo más relajado posible!

Resolutions - Propósitos

 

Hello there, happy New Year to you all!

I am really not good at resolutions as I never really hold them.

Anyhow for this year my resolution, or better my desire is to try to benefit my time in a better way.
Day and night.
Time for work, time for rest.
I want to be aware of my time and arrange it in a healthier way for me. In a way that allows me to do those small steps I want to do in order to give my life a new direction.

For this IF topic I thought this paintings of a sun and moon fit very well to express the balance between day and night, activity and rest.

They are made with acrylics on chipboard and they are part of the Punch and Judy show I painted for my niece & nephews this christmas.

No se me dan nada bien los propósitos ya que no suelo cumplirlos a la larga.
Aún así para este año me he propuesto, o mejor dicho deseo aprovechar mejor el tiempo. 
Día y noche. 
Tiempo para actividades, tiempo para descansar. 
Quiero estar consciente del tiempo y administrarlo de una manera más sana para mí. De tal manera que me permita hacer esos pequeños pasos que ojalá vayan cambiando el rumbo de mi vida hacia una nueva dirección.

Para este tema de IF me parecían plasmar muy bien estas pinturas de un sol y una luna el equilibrio entre día y noche, actividad y descanso.

Las hice con acrílicos en tablero y son parte del guiñol que pinté para mis sobrinos estas navidades.
