have a closer look to the snow. i don´t have it here in Madrid, but my peeps in Germany are living in winterwonderland at this moment. hopefully when I go there for christmas, it will still be there.

Layer - capa - Schicht

When I read this week´s prompt "layer" I immediately thought of a layer cake, yum! Sigh...I have a sweet tooth...

I had fun with this drawing: it´s not only a layer cake, it is made of many layers with my beloved oil pastels.

Al leer la tarea de IF para esta semana, "capa", inmediatamente pensé en una tarta hecha de muchas capas, tipo Sacher, ¡ñam! Aysss...soy una golosa...

Me lo pasé pipas haciendo este dibujo: no es solo una tarta hecha de muchas capas, también dibujé muchas capas con mis queridos pasteles de óleo.

Reverse - el reverso - die Kehrseite

Isn´t the reverse part of both women and men a very attractive and special one? Particularly because we can´t look at ourselves like this, it is reserved for others to see our b-side.

This is a rough watercolour study of a live drawing session with 5 minutes poses. I am really clumsy at this, as it was the first time in ages that I went to life drawing. Later I pimped the drawing up with colour pencil.

¿No crees que el revés de las mujeres y de los hombres es especialmente atractivo e interesante? Sobre todo por que nosotros mismos no podemos mirarnos desde este punto de vista, está reservado a otros de ver nuestro reverso.

Hice este pequeño boceto de acuarela antes de ayer en una sesion de dibujo con modelo, eran poses de 5 minutos. Estoy siendo verdaderamente torpe con estos ahora, ya que hace siglos que no he ido allí. Dibujé después encima con lápices de colores, lo que hace el dibujo más vivo.

Déja-vu

Resolutions - Propósitos

 

Hello there, happy New Year to you all!

I am really not good at resolutions as I never really hold them.

Anyhow for this year my resolution, or better my desire is to try to benefit my time in a better way.
Day and night.
Time for work, time for rest.
I want to be aware of my time and arrange it in a healthier way for me. In a way that allows me to do those small steps I want to do in order to give my life a new direction.

For this IF topic I thought this paintings of a sun and moon fit very well to express the balance between day and night, activity and rest.

They are made with acrylics on chipboard and they are part of the Punch and Judy show I painted for my niece & nephews this christmas.

No se me dan nada bien los propósitos ya que no suelo cumplirlos a la larga.
Aún así para este año me he propuesto, o mejor dicho deseo aprovechar mejor el tiempo. 
Día y noche. 
Tiempo para actividades, tiempo para descansar. 
Quiero estar consciente del tiempo y administrarlo de una manera más sana para mí. De tal manera que me permita hacer esos pequeños pasos que ojalá vayan cambiando el rumbo de mi vida hacia una nueva dirección.

Para este tema de IF me parecían plasmar muy bien estas pinturas de un sol y una luna el equilibrio entre día y noche, actividad y descanso.

Las hice con acrílicos en tablero y son parte del guiñol que pinté para mis sobrinos estas navidades.

Phenomenon - Fenómeno

Do you know this PHENOMENON: to get stuck in front of the TV, paralyzed and unable to push the OFF button?????

I am not a big TV consumer, but I have to admit that these days I struggle with this...I am definitely watching too  much. Sometimes I force myself at least to do some doodles while watching...so I did this little pencil drawing a couple of weeks ago in my sketch book.

¿Os suena este FENÓMENO?: ¿¿quedarse paralizado delante de la tele, incapaz de apagarla?????
Pues en general no soy una gran consumidora de la tele, pero aún así últimamente esto es lo que me pasa constantemente....en fin, veo demasiado la tele. Aún así a veces me esfuerzo en hacer por lo menos algunos dibujos entretanto...y así hice hace un par de semanas este pequeño dibujo a lápiz en mi cuaderno.

For Illustration Friday´s topic "Sneaky" I took the dark meaning of sneaky, for I dread to be quite blah these days.

This song just popped up immediately when I read this week´s Illustration Friday topic >> can´t help it but I love 80s rock music!

Afterwards

Now that summer has gone even here in Spain, afterwards I wish I had enjoyed it more: more playing, more time outside, more barbecues, more ice cream, more summer fruits, more canning fruit jams, more suntanning, more fancy summer dresses, more outdoor concerts...but there will always be a next summer!

Still the watches pursuit me - it is a project for myself to be more aware of time, as I only feel it running by.

Spent

I am having a hard week at my day job...I SPENT the whole week working working, until after 10 p.m. in the office, I am just dreaming myself into a more quiet and pieceful place...

This is another little painting of my "watches" project, it kind of reflects my search for inner balance.

Racing

Even asleep I often feel to be in a racing with time!

Spooky

Spooky is this week´s Illustration Friday topic. I am not a native english speaker and the word "spooky" sounds cute to me, so that first I was thinking of likeable ghosts.

But finally this sinister coachman came up - I don´t know why and from where...but here he is and I find him really intimidating!

I used watercolour and charcoal.

Transportation

I got up a little earlier this morning in order to do this little painting for this week´s Illustration Friday topic "Transportation" - really last minute!

Thinking of the topic this was one of the first three ideas that came in my mind. Don´t you think that a flying carpet is just one of the fastest and ecological means of transportation ever? Just step on, say your destination and shoooooommmm....I think I need this to arrive on time!
