today´s paintings (or drawings?): new medium, new subjects. black and white, ink on paper. i flipped through a magazine and decided spontaneously on the first images which caught my eye. below the drawings and the Kunstforum magazine pages.

las pinturas (¿o mejor dibujos?) de hoy: nuevo medio, nuevos sujetos. blanco y negro, tinta en papel. iba hojeando una revista y decidí espontáneamente sobre las primeras fotos que me llamaron la atención. abajo los dibujos y las páginas de la revista Kunstforum.

the green post

on Wednesdays my friend Tina and I have an "artist date": we go at night to the Circulo de Bellas Artes ("Fine Arts Circle") in Madrid. There are free studios with life drawing and a print workshop.
We are trying linocuts. It´s meditative and we can chat while we are carving. I am afraid we might disturb the others there with our conversation in German (when we are together we are like in a German bubble).
Today I did some girls (in green). I am as green in this tecnique as the girls. I am very impressed of the lino prints of Koosje, check them out here.

los miércoles suelo ir con mi amiga Tina al Circulo de Bellas Artes en Madrid. Tienen talleres libres de dibujo con models y un estudio de grabado. 
Estamos probando grabados de linóleo. Es muy meditativo y podemos charlar mientras cortamos las planchas. Me temo que molestamos a los demás con nuestra conversación en alemán (cuando estamos juntos estamos como en una burbuja alemana).
Hice hoy estas chicas (en verde). Soy tan verde en esta técnica como esas chicas. Me impresionan los grabados de linóleo de Koosje, miralos aquí.

As of food I am also trying to intregate more green. This was chard plant with fried eggs. Tomorrow I have an invitation for a cooking class here and I am very happy about this!

En la comida también estoy intentando incluir más verde. Hice unas acelgas con huevos fritos. Mañana tengo una invitación para un curso de cocina aquí. ¡Qué ilusión!

an Audrey portrait & Leon Golub exhibition

I painted this portrait of Audrey Hepburn about 5 years ago. My former boyfriend adored her and I painted this as a present for him. It´s about three years now that I haven´t seen this painting and I just recovered it recently on a CD with photos. Hey, and I still like it! - I am thinking about doing some portraits of celebrities, because I find this a great excercise, because alikeness is more measurable. What do you think of this idea? I´d really like to paint BB or Sophia Loren...

On Saturday I saw this exhibition in the Palacio de Velázquez in Madrid´s Retiro Park (organised by Reina Sofía Museum). Leon Golub´s work is very interesting! There was one room with portraits of politics - mainly 20th century dictators. I found this so inspiring! Ok, I see, famous actresses´ portrais and dictator´s portraits don´t have much in common, but I hope you get the idea...

Pinté este retrato de Audrey Hepburn hace unos 5 años. Mi entonces novio la adoraba y era un regalo para él. Hace tres años que no he visto este cuadro y lo reencontré el otro día en un CD con fotos. ¡Y todavía me gusta! - Estoy pensando en pintar algunos retratos de famosos. Más que nada porqué creo que puede ser un buen ejercicio, ya que el parecido es más medible. ¿Qué opináis? Me gustaría pintar a BB o a Sophia Loren...

Este sábado ví esa exposición en el Palacio de Velázquez en el Parque del Retiro en Madrid (organizado por el Museo Reina Sofía). Me pareció muy interesante la obra de Leon Golub. También hubo una sala con retratos de políticos - mayormente dictadores del siglo XX. ¡Me sentí de repente muy inspirada! Bueno, sé que retratos de actrices famosas y de dictadores no tienen mucho en común, pero creo que comprendéis la idea...

Reverse - el reverso - die Kehrseite

Isn´t the reverse part of both women and men a very attractive and special one? Particularly because we can´t look at ourselves like this, it is reserved for others to see our b-side.

This is a rough watercolour study of a live drawing session with 5 minutes poses. I am really clumsy at this, as it was the first time in ages that I went to life drawing. Later I pimped the drawing up with colour pencil.

¿No crees que el revés de las mujeres y de los hombres es especialmente atractivo e interesante? Sobre todo por que nosotros mismos no podemos mirarnos desde este punto de vista, está reservado a otros de ver nuestro reverso.

Hice este pequeño boceto de acuarela antes de ayer en una sesion de dibujo con modelo, eran poses de 5 minutos. Estoy siendo verdaderamente torpe con estos ahora, ya que hace siglos que no he ido allí. Dibujé después encima con lápices de colores, lo que hace el dibujo más vivo.

In the middle of the night, the sneaky old witch sneaks away and is hopefully never seen again...

For Illustration Friday´s topic "Sneaky" I took the dark meaning of sneaky, for I dread to be quite blah these days.
