sitting in the metro today i found an envelope hidden in my notepad with postcards of kandinsky paintings i bought in munich around christmas. i took one of them as an inspiration for today´s painting. another abstract composition with this weeks colour palette. see also the inspiration postcard below.

decided to stick with the same colour palette during the whole week. although on paper it comes out very differently. today only a quick and random painting, all shapes came up spontaneously. i apologize for the bad image quality, my camera seems to abandon service and the paper pad is too big for my scanner.

he decidido de seguir con la misma gama de colores durante toda la semana, aunque en papel salen muy diferente. hoy solo una pintura rápida y espontánea, todas las formas iban así surgiendo. perdonad la mala calidad de la imágen, mi cámara parece ir muriéndose y el bloc de papel es demasiado grande para mi escáner.

as i started 2 days late for the daily painting project, i started today nº 1 + nº 2 at the same time. nº 2 is finished now, too. and i´ll go to bed...it´s sooo late again. i am such a night owl...tomorrow, i have so much to do..dentist, preparing and teaching a german class outside the city in a big company, a workshop at night (on self-development)

como he empezado con 2 días de retraso el proyecto de daily painting, he empezado nº 1 + nº 2 a la vez. nº 2 está terminado ahora también y me voy a la cama...otra vez tan tarde. soy tan noctambula...mañana tengo tantas cosas que hacer..ir al dentista, preparando e impartiendo una clase de alemán fuera de la ciudad en una empresa grande, un taller por la noche (sobre desarrollo personal)

i am late to start with the daily painting project i´ve joined together with dana - but better late then never! although i wanted to do quick paintings and usually i paint more loose and organic shapes, today i was drawn to experiment with squares and rectangles, totally new for me but i am having fun! you can turn around the painting as you like.

llego tarde con el projecto "daily painting" que hago con dana - ¡pero mejor tarde que nunca! aunque quería hacer pinturas rápidas y más suelto, con formas más orgánicas, hoy me ha dado por experimentar con cuadrados y rectángulos, algo totalmente nuevo para mí, pero me lo he pasado bien. se puede girar el cuadro como quieras.

painting for a fairy tale theater

Recently I stayed a week with my little sister and my adorable 15 months old nephew in Germany. A friend of her there commissioned me to do a painting on cloth for his children´s theater, the Kleine Bühne in Giessen. He wanted a castle and a part of a garden in the front. Oh I loved to paint this!
I hope I´ll get some photos of it hanging in the theater soon.

Hace poco visité a mi hermana pequeña y su adorable hijo de 15 meses en Alemania. Un amigo suyo me encargó una pintura sobre tela como decorado para su teatro infantil, el Kleine Bühne en Giessen. Quería un castillo y un jardín insinuado. ¡Qué trabajo más bonito y cómo me gustó hacerlo! Espero poder enseñaros pronto fotos del teatro también.

Before I started I looked at fairy tale books for some inspirations, above all castles.
I discovered the artist Tatjana Hauptmann, she does really fine and dreamy book illustrations. I had this book with illustrations of her to browse for inspiration.

Antes de empezar a pintar estuve hojeando en libros de cuentos para inspirarme, sobre todo mirando castillos. Descubrí la artista Tatjana Hauptmann quien hace unas ilustraciones verdaderamente hermosas. Tuve este libro con sus ilustraciones a mano.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

new wine lables, this time for a birthday wine

hello my dear friends!
I am sorry I don´t post here a lot, I hardly have been creative the last months. My life has been very turbulent and I am very scattered. Thank you for still being here with me!
I want to share these new wine labels I did for the "birthday wine" of a friend of mine who turned 60. This time I used a water colour abstract drawing which I scanned and worked the lettering digitally. The final result is one of three. Which one would you have chosen?

siento no escribir mucho por aquí y apenas he hecho nada creativo los últimos meses. Mi vida ha sido muy turbulento y estoy muy despistada. ¡Gracias por seguir aquí conmigo!
Quería enseñaros otras etiquetas de vino que diseñé para el "vino cumpleañero" para un amigo que cumplió 60 en junio. Esta vez utilicé un acuarela, lo escaneé y trabajé las letras en digital. El resultado final es uno de tres que hice. ¿Cuál hubiéras escogido tú?

A good friend of mine started to produce wine in Aragón with local friends there. Only a small production for own use and friends and friends of friends. There will be a tinto, a rosado and a blanco. He asked me to design the label of one of the wines - a great honour for me and very exciting! Never did this before! I´ll show the result as soon as it is finished and approved. The payment will be in wine, of course (-;  This reminds me very much of my friend Yvonne, check this out.

Anyway the labels I show you here are a special commission of the same friend: friends of him just got married and he wants to give them a "sixpack" of his wines. So he commissioned me to design three different labels. These are hand painted and there are two of each. Do you guess which label is for the white, for the red and for the rosé wine? Do you like them?

un buen amigo mío ha empezado de producir vino en Aragón con unos amigos suyos lugareños de allí. Sólo una pequeña producción para uso propio y amigos y amigos de amigos. Va a haber un tinto, un rosado y un blanco. Me encargó del diseño de la etiqueta de uno de los vinos - ¡un gran honor para mí y muy emocionante! ¡Nunca lo he hecho antes! Os enseñaré el resultado una vez terminado y aprobado. El pago será con vino, por supuesto (-; Esto me recuerda mucho a mi amiga Yvonne, echad un vistazo aquí.

Bueno, las etiquetas que véis aquí son un encargo especial del mismo amigo: unos amigos suyos se casaron hace poco y les quiere regalar un estuche con seis de sus vinos. Me ha encargado de hacer tres diseños diferentes. Están pintados a mano, en parejas de dos en dos. ¿Adivinas cuál de las etiquetas es para el blanco, el tinto y el rosado? ¿Te gustan?

Purple

Last day 7 days/7 colours with Purple.
This is a detail from the Maroccan patchwork tapestry which is my bed-head. Blues and purples dominate, although you can also find reds, greens and yellos. It´s the only oriental decoration element I have in my small flat, but I love it.

Isn´t it incredible that the weekend is over again?
What did you do?
My weekend was quite a cultural one. I went to the Prado Museum to have a guided visit to this amazing tableau and today to see this phantastic exhibition.

Último día 7 días/7 colores con el morado/lila.
Esto es un detalle del tápiz patchwork marroquí que tengo colgado de la pared como cabecera de la cama. Azules y morados predominan, pero hay también rojos, verdes y amarillos. Es la única pieza de decoración oriental que tengo en mi pequeño apartamento, pero me gusta.

El mío fue bastante cultural. Fui al Museo del Prado y disfruté de una visita guiada a este fascinante cuadro y hoy fui a ver esta esxposición maravillosa.

Dark blue

Dark blue is today´s colour.
Sometimes I dream of a big country kitchen where I would cook preserves and store them in preserving jars!

¡A veces sueño con tener una cocina grande de casa de campo donde haría mermeladas y confitados!

Light blue

7 days/7 colours: today´s colour is light blue.
Here in Madrid we have almost every day a really beautiful blue sky. Madrilenians have a typical proverb that says, "from Madrid to heaven"!
And look how the city is already preparing for christmas: streets and plazas are decorated with feastful ilumination. However the lights won´t glow until 25th november. The turning-on of the lights is an official event in presence of the governing mayor. Due to the economical crisis there are much less lights than before and the lightbulbs are now LED.

7 días/7 colores: el color de hoy es el azul claro.
Aquí en Madrid tenemos casí todos los días un precioso cielo azul celeste. Además los madrileños tienen un proverbio popular que dice ¡de Madrid al cielo! Mirad como la ciudad se está preparando ya para las navidades: calles y plazas son decorados con decoración y luces navideñas, aunque no serán encendidas hasta el próximo 25 de noviembre. El Encendido de las luces de Navidad es siempre un acontecimiento público y se hace en presencia del alcalde. Debido a la crisis económica y el recorte de gastos, ahora hay mucho menos luces que antes y ahora son luces LED para ahorrar energía también.

Green

 

Today´s colour: green. I love green!
I arrived home late, so before I go to bed just a quick look around the flat for something green...maybe the right time to tell you that I am rather sleazy: this green sporty cotton bra was already hanging there on the entrance door. Do you believe me if I tell you that I bought this bra (together with the same panties which I throwed away years ago...) at least 15 years ago? Actually I wore it the other day for the first time in ages!

Hoy toca el color verde. ¡Me encanta el verde!
Acabo de llegar tarde a casa, así que antes de acostarme eché un vistazo por ahí en mi apartamente a ver si encontraba algo verde...bueno, quizás es el momento para deciros que soy bastante desordenada: este sujetador verde deportivo de algodón ya estaba colgado en la puerta de entrada. ¿Os podéis creer que compré este sujetador (con sus bragas que ya tiré hace años...) hace hasta por lo menos 15 años? ¡De echo me lo puse el otro día por primera vez en siglos!
